I have a few pictures of my own that i took of this car but they're not very good but then I ran across some better ones on Rik Hoving's site. http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_..._cars/40s_-_50s_built_40/sectioned-1940-conv/ So i was seeing if anyone knew who may have originally built this car and where it may have come from? The rest of the photos are in the link. Thanks for any help and info.
I know the guy who now owns it. Just started the resto and wanted me to get some info for him. The car was green with a green and white interior.
I don't remember ever seeing any photos of it as a finished car as far as I can remember. That would be one low 40 when it's set up right.
Johnny run over to franklin rite behind the dairy queen on 23 theres a builder used to live there he would be able to help you out on info with that car i used to live there new him well but that was 15 years ago he shuold still be there. He will help you out im sure.
I think he talked to Frank and he didn't know. The car came from North Dakota and the trail sort of ends there. The previous owner forgot the history on the car.
well i guess its time to just start a build how ever you wana build it then have fun i know i want a convertable . Once i get the 33 pontiac done im selling it to start looking for a 35 to 40 convertable. Its bin 10 years our more since i bin back up that way hows Frank .
This '40 Ford convert was owned by John Geraghty, painted irridescent green, by Ayalya...I only know this because I recognized the car from Rik's site, under Ayalya...if the car shown here is that convert, it would be a real find...interesting that what remains of the upholstry is green, often the upholster tried to match the color, if not the hue...Rik, could this be John's car, left SoCal for the Dakotas a long time ago??
We found out it wasn't the Geraghty car. Found the issue of Hop UP it was in and the interior was a little different. And the Geraghty '40 was also channeled?
Geraghty 1940 Ford only had a sectioned hood and raised front fenders. The rear fenders are not raised, and the main body was not sectioned. So No its not the same car. Would have been nice though! Still the all sectioned 1940 Ford in this post is a really nice car, and could be turned into a very stylish custom car... no matter its history.
