  3. Wow! This thread got in the wind...

I saw this car in person at the round up a few years ago. That's when I shot the pic's. I don't remember those front tires though. I wonder what size they are?

  4. These are going on my Low Buck 32 Fordor project that you've been following, so I'm trying to stay within scope of the build.

If they look good I won't change them...

Besides if I don't do things 3 or 4 times I feel like I'm just being lazy. :D

But doing thing over and over doesn't follow the low-buck build theme either. Follow da34guy's lead. He's built LOTS of killer cars with perfect stance on radials.

Im with you man. Radials + Hotrod = LAME. Ive put thousands of miles on my Firestones, no problems. Handles perfectly fine. I just don't get it.

Why is this a topic?? How are radial tires even considered TRADITIONAL equipment???? So you have to grab the wheel and drive a little more defensively, that's what hot rodding is all about. Want radials...buy a Cadillac with a couch seat and enjoy your radials.

Can U run a mix of bias and radials?

  11. Am I taking a poll for opinions? If I have my young son with me and I need to replace a tire half way between Austin and the HAMB drags, it would be nice to whip in somewhere and be back on the road quick.

There are ways to be cool other than being "Mr ******** Bias Guy". Your car is killer and I wouldn't run anything but Bias on it, but that doesn't mean every car has to run them...

These look really promising. Thanks for he heads up...

The top pics are Michelin XPS RIB tires, designed for medium duty trucks, motorhomes, etc. They last FOREVER and are designed to be regrooved and recapped.

They are not exactly cheap. Transporter who does work for the dealerships I work for runs em, gets like 100k miles out of them and they are something like $300 each.

I'm running the same Firestone Transforce HT 235/85/16's on my '40 Ford stake bed. I was looking for something to fill a lot of empty space.

I'm running a p***enger car Firestone 215/70/15's up front, although I did find some 185/80/15's that I am thinking about swapping to.

Here's what they look like on the truck.

Tread width is about 7" on the back tires.

My decision was based on dollars and sense. It didn't make sense to spend the dollars on overly high priced tires, just to say it was traditional.

Had to add a drop axel. Sorry about the copper grille, it was the closest color match I had on deck.

Do the front and rears have the same tread pattern? What brand are they?
They look good. How did you grind the lettering off?
