My first preferance is to restore it to how ever it was, If I can find some history in it.
Otherwise I have a hot inline GMH 6 and a set of McGee injectors.

Cool little car... Perfect for the HAMB Drags, Stick it together with your 6 and a Powerglide and have fun.... ya gotta get some smaller tires 10 or 11 wide 31 to 33 tall... front motored cars don't like big wide rear tires...... besides they don't look right.

Before the mid 80's the car never raced anywhere but around Central Illinois... That's the late Lee Stewart's "Overtime" from Champaign IL, he built it several years back and used to race it about every weekend at Motion Raceway in Assumption IL up until the track closed in 82.

He ran a BB Chevy in it.... There are some good pictures of it on www.motionraceway.com

  5. Photos of my 1956 Ford I bought in Oct 2007, as it was found in the guys backyard. Glass front fenders, 1965 Shelby GT350 steering wheel, T-Bolt ladder bars, had been raced in NASCAR B/Modified Production (Suffolk VA) around 1965-67. Was raced under the Dixie Racing Team banner, sponsored by Bowditch Ford, Newport News VA from 1965-70. It had been sitting from 1970 until 2007 when I found it.

I have not seen the Quiet oOne since i was a kid at Vargo's dragway in Perkasie, PA. I have a video from old 8mm movie of this car doing wheelies. You could not hear it running when it ran,
    Thanks for the memories,
    Paul Nevells
PS this is the first picture I have ever seen of this car

I've been watching almost daily cause I work and live close by!!! I went to school with some of the family but the father is just dead set against it. He and his brother built it and the brother passed away.

Subscribed!! This is an awesome thread! It's all emotions at once. Happiness, sadness, curiosity, and wonder hahaha it's so good to see that a lot of them have been saved. And the ones that didn't at least I hope some of the parts have gone on to other to be saved :D love this thread. To think of how many of them are still out there! We need to save them! And not let them get lost forever. So much awesome history. Really intriguing. One day I hope to run across an ol drag to save :)

Good news and bad news!!! First the good news, the owner finally sold the "alcoholic" Camaro that's been sitting for close to 30 years. Now the bad news ... It wasn't to me !!!! Damn it ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1372346715.172077.jpg
