I am putting air conditioning on my Model A and talking to a friend the other day, he told me he had trouble keeping his engine cool with the Walker with the condenser in front. He ended up using a remote condenser under the car. His problem was that it would get hot standing still but was fine moving. That to me sounds like not enough fan. So the question is was this just an anomaly or has someone else had a similar problem. I really don't want the condenser under the car. The particulars of mine: '31 Sedan with stock hood, stock 283 2bbl, Model A grill shell 16" spal fan puller. The Walker I am considering is: C-Ac487-2
My full hooded '34 has sat in stopped traffic in 90+ degrees for a half hour with no problem. Am using a 16" Flex Fan an inch and a half from the radiator with one of Walker's shrouds.
I never had any problems with a Walker Radiator with the condenser on front. A wise decision would be to use a zips riser and use a good engine driven fan. HRP
The key word here is shroud. When you are taxing the cooling system on a vehicle the shroud is imperative. It will allow (force) the fan to pull air through every square inch of the radiator vastly improving the efficiency. John L
