anyone have vintage car cutaway art

    Heres' a cutaway, kinda similar to what your looking for. I borrowed the image and just wanted to test my talent. Looks like you got a great start though.

    church- wow those are all fantastic...how big are those by the way...and you said he used pancil?

    dustdevil- that's definitely a good test to your talent... way to go .... I don't know if I am gonna go that detailed for the engine.......I wouldn't mind trying though

    Hey Nate. Yes, they are pencil on vellum. The pencil is super dense, and is practically black. They vary in size from maybe 18x24, to the Tony Nancy and Snake ones which are probably 30x40 or so. That's just a guess, but I'd be glad to measure them when I get home if you'd like.

    Your piece is fantastic by the way. Have you set a price on it yet? Or is it a commission?

    I gotta try out vellum.. I love experimenting... painting oils on plywood was a learning experience... I pretty much finished the entire painting after tonight. I added color to the background and some other details as well. I haven't set a price yet, although a guy out in LA offered me a chunk for it ..but I kinda don't want to let it go until I have my gallery shows this winter.

    Here's my next venture with "James Doomed"...it's the cutaway of the car crash that killed James Dean...this is just the outline for the painting.....the painting will be 4 1/2 ft by 3 ft

    I do this for a living. Not done a full car cutaway since college though.
