Hot Rods Anyone Have Vortec Valve Guide/Spring Cutting Tools?

I realize Vortec heads are far from traditional, but if the hood is closed, who will know?

I need to modify my Vortec heads so I can run a high lift cam. Don't want to spend $150 on tools I will only use once. But I would be willing to pay rental fee and a deposit if someone will loan them to me. I need:
Comp Cams 4718
Comp Cams 4726
Comp Cams 4732

 

Can't you use the beehive springs and retainers to get the clearance you need?

 

what cam? Just do the Ghetto grind and use cheapo z28 springs, unless its a big cam.

 

Can't go over .450 lift. Beehive springs are $200, plus the valve keeper will still bottom out on the guides.

 

aw if you were only closer i'd just cut -m- 4-u- free...
What does your local Machine shop charge? can't be more than 160.00?
cut guides down to fit .501/.530 seals far enough down for .500+ lift
cam.... cut spring seats out to 1.440 ...

 

a suggestion buy them 150.00 put em on ebay at 1/2 your cost...
