as in leg room?? I think that happens when the seat bottom is too close to the floor there's miles of head room in these "TT"s.. both of the RPU's at my house I can stretch my legs out , but there's about a foot from the floor to the bottom of the seat..I'd like to get the seats lower , but my wifes has all the under dash stuff under the seat,... and mine I'm just too lazy

Nope, just a good example of a well executed "Bobber" truck.

If what you want to do is channel the cab down to the top of the running boards, you are going to lose 7 to 8 inches of interior vertical space....... maybe more. And these old girls are not the best for a good fit to start with.

    Thanks.
This is a cut down 4door 34 Chevrolet. I love the cab as is.
    My plan is:
-Model A front crossmember, 4 inch drop Axle with split bones Ford style
    -Rear Axle with ladder bars
-Change all the wood with steel(make a steel frame inside)
    -Make the bed
-Engine: want something cool and not so common, theres a cad flathead in parts for sale here, but Thats heavy and expensive to fix up and find parts to i think.
Im trying to make this build as economical as possible. And im on a good start.

Lars, I reckon you nailed the "Cut Down 34 pickup" look.

Now given that you want something cool and not common, and to suit your budget you could always go for a flashy
Moon type cross ram manifold atop a SBC. Folk would look at the manifold and carbs and hardly notice the rest of the engine.

Those are cool but kills the budget! By a long shot.

so as it's sit now...way too many options... one was a gow roadster,... but the reason I keep posting this is someone is gonna thow an idea that sticks..... mostly I get ghost' here, or made fun of,... even called a tool by some self proclaimed wizard of rods... and truth is I enjoy seeing the talent that some have on this site... but for me, I'm not gonnna tig weld phillips screws and cut them to slotted screws.... I'll just buy slotted screws.... I'm very comfortable in the bought not built group... kinda like my ranch... NO HAT OR CATTLE...lol[/QUOTE]

Looking at that chassis, why not build a speedster out of it. Screw the truck cab, just do a minor drop step in the back, drop axle up front and get some GOW era speedster fun with the banger. Just takes a cowl and some woodwork or some forming with glass resin and burlap bags. Sounds like with your surgery count and still to cut needs you may need to think simpler or something you can screw with and not stretch your body too far.

Bobber trucks were a dime a dozen 10 years ago. The shows down here were packed with them...

Here is a pic of the car called the Paper Bag Princess. Just giving an example of what could be done pretty easy with some welding and a vision.

that would be most old cars... stock, the tall "TT" has 58"'"s of vertical head room... where as my stock 31 model A has only 43... so if it's channeled 8'', it's still 7'' taller than a stock model A..... this cab is Tall hence the name " Phone booth cab"

thats way cool, and i would own it... but,... what is it?? it has no definition , there is no era at all, which I'm total ok with, and how hot rodding should be, probley give the ol timmers plenty to run their mouths about.. disc brakes , rack and pinion, up side down fluid shocks.. axel over frame...and such... probley drives nice and smoother than most...

if your gonna make the bed.... hunt down some 50's dodge bed sides,.. they are deeper and and the stake supports have a lot of cool detail to them they're 20'' deep and I think 78'' long you could probley do your truck with just one side, that and the metal is plenty thick so easy to mod...

Just saying, you can do whatever sparks your interest. Sounds like you are searching for inspiration on a direction, and I wouldn't say to build that car exactly, but showing you can get stupid low and make something different than most. This is hamb friendly!

thanks a million for the posts and ideas, this is one of those projects that I have no direction, so no place to start... I keep gathering parts.. sketching, photo shopping. and way over thinking... for sure what will happen is I'll get balls deep in it and someone will throw out the "you should have done this"

the one I really love, the "FIREBALL T"... that car is just too cool...even in the 120 degree Vegas weather we're having.....

I usually just shoot from the hip and hit the target, seems the more time I spend aiming, the farther off target I get....

my other pancake on the grill, this 26 chevy...it's getting trans gendered to a roadster pick up,.. only decision I have is whether to make it stock looking, or get on the hot rod trail... my thought is it would be cool to make it look like it came from chevy that way...
