Here is my 1951 pickup which I purchased in 2012, and after 5 yrs of working on it, got it on the road in 2017.

Upgraded with a T5 on the 235 straight 6, dual master brake cylinder, completely rewired and upgraded to 12v with alternator, mid 70s rear axle with 3.42 gears, a few leaf springs removed, some patch panel replacements, and new (used) bed boards and rails.

I'd still like to lower it a few inches with a 3" dropped axle and the same amount in the rear with blocks. Also, would like to get the running boards and front bumper on (on my list for a few years now - lol).

I am currently painting my wheels black and turning my blackwalls into whitewalls with some Krylon fusion paint (we'll see how they hold up...).
I think this will make a big improvement to the overall look.

This truck was my year round daily from 2017-2020.
In that time I put about 30k on a tired old Flathead, put 13 top loader transmissions in it (there was a learning curve there)

in 2020 the trans let go for the last time and I decided I was going to go through the engine and front end while I was out it.

So it’s got a fresh merc engine, a fresh trans, an old dropped axle from @Nailhead Jason and some new tierods.

since then I have it 90% back together but got busy with my coupe and finishing my garage.

Hope to get it back on the road someone soon!!

I will add my '57 F100. This a crusty one, but I freakin' love it!!
It is an odd one with a factory Fordomatic trans. The 272 gave up the ghost, and I was lucky enough to have a friend gift me an honest to goodness '57 312 Y Block for it!!
The mill has the ram's horn center dump manifolds, a '57 312 4 bbl intake and a 600 CFM Edelbrock carb.
It drives so nice and pulls like a MoFo!!

I'm building a 54 F100, chopped 3/4 " in the A-pillars to level out the roofline, hood pancaked 1 inch, rear hood corners rounded, lower stake pockets rounded, 51 grille, 51 tailgate, modified and tucked bumpers, shaved emblems, gas filler relocated to the driver's door jamb, custom made tail lights, C1 steering wheel, original leaf springs front and rear, etc., etc.

Cool truck @Scott_Rod, sits great, and I like the way the tire/wheels fill the fenders.

thanks! I’m running 8” wide wheels -had to have that deep dish- so I narrowed a Maverick 8” rear housing about 2 3/4”. - don’t remember the exact amount. 255/70’s fill out the rear fenders nicely and still have plenty of frame clearance.

I’ve said it before, don’t know if anyone agrees with me - but the truck would look better with the front wheels centered in the fender ( moved forward a bit ). ^^^^^^. & I do like those early 50s trucks
