"An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.8 struck near Washington, D.C., the U.S.Geological Survey said. The epicenter was in Virginia."

NY and DC got it too

  11. Felt it in Central Pennsylvania!!!

  12. I'm at work and we all felt it up here in Metro Detroit...when my Dad called me from Maryland to say he felt the same quake, I knew it was gonna be huge...not much more than a wiggle up here, but that is a quake felt over a huge area...looks like it was centered between DC and Richmond....hope all is well for our fellow citizens.
The news says aftershocks are coming with 60-90 minutes.

Felt in Huntington WV. My dogs are still acting weird.

  15. We felt it here in Ocean City, MD. Pretty weird, earthquake today, maybe a hurricane over the weekend!

Although the hurricane is supposed to pass west of us...probably...

I am 200 miles north of NYC and the wife just called and said her building was shaking.
I did not feel anything,I was laying under a Cherokee trying to pound rusted rotors off.I often dream of working on cars from a dry climate.

I find it kind of funny that the HAMB was quicker to report an earth quake then the actual news. Just another reason to be on here more. :D

Yep, it hit here. And Irene will be here this weekend. Too much fun. There is a major fault line just outside of Asheville and they get minor ones pretty regular. I'm wondering if this means that one will answer back.

  24. The fam just checked in from about 90 miles N.W. of N.Y.C., they really felt it there too.

Yeah the house was shaking in Davidsonville, Md. I thought I might end up with ocean front property as the east coast falls into the Atlantic. I've experienced a few but never around here. I felt a little one followed by the big one.:D

This was the first for my 96 year old mother an east coaster all her life.

  26. Power Plant Shakin here in NYC

I thought it was still the show in Brooklyn

  27. Weird! We just had an earthquake today in Trinidad, Colorado. Not a misprint, earthquake in C-O-L-O-R-A-D-O. Guess they're going around.
