They do look reminiscent of the Predator carbs mentioned in the above threads. Are Predator carbs still around? A quick search turns up repair parts but not new carbs.

If I had seen that post I wouldn't have gone searching the internet would I? There's 2 minutes I'm not getting back! I apologize for my redundanceness and my superfluousivity.

Were they produced by NAPA? The casting seems to indicate this...

Napa is a place in California, not the parts chain.

I know that but wouldn't it have NAPA, CA then?

The writer of this article might do well to write about insurance, rather than carburetors! ;)

Oh, and by the way, welcome to the HAMB, Selina. As I'm sure you've figured out already, sometimes a simple question can bring out answers as well as some just plain old redundanceness and superfluousivity.

There’s a thread here on the HAMB from 2013 called “Remember Hill variable Venturi carbs 1965?” That has some info. You’ll have to do a search.

These were definitely made in Napa Ca. My pal who lives in Napa has one. It is a form of "constant vacuum" carburetor, in principle like the British SU but mechanically different. This type of carb self regulates to the air flow so does not need an accelerator pump to cover up a lean bog. I don't really know anything about their history but someone out there does.

Selina, I will guess that your next question is "would anyone want to buy them?" As with most oddball automotive history, SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE might be interested.
    Maybe the Speedway Motors museum.

I realize that research starts (and often ends) with the internet, however; we didn't always have the internet.

Checking a number of Thomas Registers of varying years MIGHT turn up the manufacturer, and dates the company was in business.

It seems we already know that these were made in Napa, California, so don't need to find that information.

Once dates the company was in business are known, one could visit the newspaper office in Napa, and look through their archives in the appropriate years for advertising, and possibly sports articles about "local boy makes good" auto racing.

There is a LOT of knowledge not now, and probably will NEVER be on the internet.

EDIT: Going back and reading all of the links; Mike VV posted some links to patent data in 1965. Thus those who are interested could visit the newspaper office in Napa, and peruse the newspaper archives from 1965.

And Selina - THANK YOU for posting. I had not previously heard of what was probably a local speed part.

    Jon.
