Hot Rods Anyone know what this tool is?

    I keep looking at the line referring to the machine as a Briquette Press. I wonder if Kingston Charcoal would have a use for it?
     
  2. Oneball already identified it. Popping that info into the search engine of my choosing found that its used to compress samples into dense pellets for analysis. If it was in a metal shop then they were likely using it to see what the metallurgical content was of the materials that they were processing to keep them within the spec the customers needed, or to maintain quality control of their products.

    Resembles a device for crimping wire rope to make lifting sling eyes
