Looking for a supplier or someone who has a 40 Ford ignition assembly. I need one for the roadster. Preferrably N.O.S. or good used.I have an offshore one from a supplier up here and it is really poor quality. Any info would be great.. Time-Bomb John
I get switch parts feom C&G or Carpenter, ask for NO$ parts. Repro EVIL. Have you taken what you have apart?? It may well just need a cleanup. Early years are made to disassemble, later are easy to dismantle though made as units. Get in there, clean it, and make the obvious repairs. Carpenter has large stashes of original parts, but you have to ask as they aren't ctaloged.
Don't have Ford catalog here at work, but C&G shows this as '38-40 pass, '38-47 pickup. They have plate only...it is the take-apart kind, and so very easy to work on. I've got a '38 here in my hand..no idea why it is in my office. Just polish the three-way slider inside, wipe the plate across fine sandpaper acouple of times and polisg contacts. Unless yours is unusually bad, it likely needs only basic care to go back to work.
