Thinking of looking into bead rolled panels for some interior pieces for my 32 roadster..anyone making them for sale or someone i can contact...appreciate any information
I had to tin a drag car one time. I bought the Eastwood bead roller for like 150.00 did it all myself. Kinda fun actually!!
I also bought the Eastwood bead roller..had to reinforce it,,,used it to make floor pans for a sedan delivery, also made battery cover for K model IHC
I borrowed one and made my own steel firewall and floor for my fiberglass t bucket a thousand years ago.
Do your own. For what you'll pay someone, you can own a machine. I started out with a HF bead roller and upgraded as I did more. There are lots of YouTube videos out there. Check out Make It Kustom. Karl does very good videos and he explains the need to prestretch before you put the bead in it. If you don't, your panels will likely be wavey, especially if you try to put wide full depth beads in. Also, check out the site All Metal Shaping. There is a sub forum on bead rollers.
Harbor freight with 15 % discount. A couple hours reinforcing and modding. Good to go. About 150.00 in mods... Took out a recessed spare tire well and replaced with these homemade panels..
Well I guess I will look into getting one ..it does sound fun learning to. I have watches a few of make it custom videos...gotta give it a try
If you're doing interior panels, you will use aluminum, which is easier to work with and requires less rigidity in the bead roller. Depending on thickness, you may get away without prestretching. Good luck!
I made these door trims out of 0.8mm cold rolled steel, I am a total novice and they are not perfect but they suit my style of ride. If you are planning to buy a bead roller get a motorized one ( believe me you will be glad you did ). Glen
