I was heading into Sioux City yesterday and what do I see, a transport truck heading up I-29 with a load of old cars. Now a car guy has to look at a truck p***ing with a load of cool stuff on board!

Then 3 miles down the road I run upon a complete body that I think was a 31 Ford sitting on the shoulder of the road. Apparently it had fallen off the transport truck hauling it and the guy must not have noticed it.

The police were already there and I ***ume a wrecker on the way. If a transport truck rolls into your driveway and the driver has a sick look on his face, your hot rod body will be at Meier Towing in Sioux City. :D

Considering the roads were icy at the time I can only ***ume this must have looked like a top spinning in the highway.

I recently sold a studebaker and it went to cali.....the guy had one of those transport companies come pick it up.....I helped the guy load the car. He had to unload a pick up before loading my studebaker. After it was loaded, he pulled the pick up back on. Now, I can tell you that he is not the guy that lost this load. He wenched that poor old pick up down so hard that I watched the frame flex side to side. Way too tight in my opinion. If I were to buy something nice, I would not get a semi type hauler for my purchase, I would spend more cash and get a 1-3 car hauler for better service.....

I sold a bike and one of those transporters pulled up. He didnt even have tie downs. He was going to use chains. I loaned him mine and he finally sent them back. I dont know about those guys..

  14. I know a guy here in that bought a 32 ford from the mid west and was having it shipped home. When they went to unload it they found that the straps on the car behind it had come loose. For the better part of a 1000 mile trip this poor 32 was getting slammed in the *** by a full size 50's sedan. Needless to say it wasn't pretty. The driver said he would not give out his insurance information until he was paid in full for all shipping charges. Can you believe that!!!!

Of course that was right up until my friend mentioned that he was a State Trooper!! At that point the guy was a little easier to deal with.

I was in rush hour traffic one Friday evening. Saw this truck/trailer hauling a very nice Camaro drag car heading to the track. Eventually he ended up in front of me. Traffic came to a stop and took off again. I wasn't paying too close attention until I saw the Camaro now rolling slowly backward toward me...off the trailer. I pulled to the shoulder and jumped out to try and catch it, the owner joined me and we managed to stop it and get it loaded again. Good thing it was on a pretty level surface or that car would have been a gonner.
