That is running a 3 speed? I've never put a clutch on a trans. I have no clue what I am doing!!! Can someone please give me a detailed installation process?! Or if you are local and can help in person, that would be great too. Cold PBR is always waiting in the fridge....
Please don't be offended, but the best $20 you can spend is a factory shop manual on your year car. It covers every ***embly, how to take it apart and how to put it back together again. If you're inexperienced, this is also the time to make a new friend who can help you. It's not that installing a clutch is rocket surgery, but you'll need a working knowledge of the parts and what must be done prior to ***embly to be sure everything works as it should when you're done. You don't want to find out that you've screwed something up when the car is done...been there, done that. Sorry I'm so far away or I'd help you out. Here's a tip - scan the HAMB membership for guys in your area and put out the call for help. Chances are you'll get more than you think! Good luck! Eric
Yeah, dragon...a clutch isn't rocket science, but it does fall under that heading of "Things You Really Should Watch Someone Do Once" I was fortunate enough to have access to a military auto hobby shop, during my stint in the service. You paid a few bucks an hour for a stall, with a lift and had access to a full compliment of tools and a retired military mechanic who ran the tool room and was always around to offer tips/hints/advice. I changed my first clutch in such a place, on a 64 Fairlane two-door sedan. I got it done with the old guy's guidance, but it would've been hell if I'd been alone.
Having a stall at a shop would be nice! Hell, having it in my own garage would be nice! My buddy is lettin me keep it in his. Need to get it out of there ASAP! Thanks for the help though fellas. Much appreciated.
