I've never seen it. That's either in person or in photos. Any idea of what area of the state it came from if it was built in the state? The trailer hitch says that it has been driven a bit over the years and it may have come from somewhere else in the country.

What I was told is that it was built by Joe Bailon. It's a California car. I looked up a ton of pictures for cars he built and can't find anything. Closest I can find that has a similar look is a 65 Impala he built. It's not my car but belongs to a guy I recently was talking to.

It belongs in the “this is just wrong” thread in the “off topic” forum…

no redeeming qualities whatsoever. looks like the remains of a 60 Cadillac.

let this be a reminder to have concept drawings done of any radical custom you want to build before you start

I know that I have seen pictures of it in a magazine in an article about Joe Bailon. I will look for it later, I am 99% sure it is a Bailon car

Here’s the article. Doesn’t really say much about it. But it surely is a Bailon car IMG_6165.jpeg IMG_6164.jpeg IMG_6163.jpeg

no idea......he probably needs to price it... I think it was built in the eighties. Not a well known car,

The magazine article above describes it as "very original bodywork". That was a diplomatic way of putting it. :)

  17. Re-do the exterior in all black, put the Cragars back on and you'd have a helluva Hot Rod funeral flower car...
I would ditch those weird ovals on the doors however.

Yeah, it looks like it started as a '60 Caddy.

My understanding is it's been in an older gentlemen's collection since shortly after it was built and hasn't been out where it would be seen since. He's now since passed

I like looking at it from the front, not so much from the sides.
I’m not in the “custom” camp, but I sure do admire the work and skills needed to make one.

The raised ovals in the door look to me like they were there to have someone's shop name painted on them, to give someone's logo a 3D effect.

I don't hate it, I actually think it has a lot of potential if it were finished out to a higher degree (needs the right paint, wheels, maybe some bumpers and stuff). I kinda doubt that the paint that's on it came from Bailon's shop anyway, that paint looks pretty amateur-ish to have come from him. Also appears that the padded top and wheel covers came later, also pieces I'm not fond of. But I could see it. It would really stand out in a sea of boring shit.

Is this what happens when you ask AI to design your next custom car project?

That ol Cadillac never hurt anyone, why’d someone have to hurt it like that?

Sure ran out on inspiration on the ass end. Cut the wickerbill off and swoop the fender ends and mount a Nomad like tailgate in the center. I can live with the frontend, but loose the sidemounts and the do-dad on the doors.

I have never been gifted a car or inherited one for that matter. If it ever did happen, this is what it would look like.

Bailon, and other well known builders, have created some "unique" rides well outside the normal accepted customs world.
