Anyone remember this Vette from Ind.?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 550Coupe, Mar 12, 2011.

  1. In the late 60's / early 70's my late cousin Dave Costanza of Ashley, Ind. ran this black metalflake Corvette in B/FA. I think he ran mainly at Avilla, Muncie and Bunker Hill drag strips. Any information on what became of the car would be appreciated. Also if anyone should have any pictures or old film I would be happy to pay for re prints. One more thing, the SOHC motor. This was the marriage that never was. A cammer in a Corvette! Viet Nam got in the way plus his partner backed out. The car was sold and my cousin bought it back after he got out of the Army. By then it was running a Hilborn injected small block w/ Torquflite trans. which is how he raced it. So.......... what happened to the SOHC motor?

  4. Hey there is a guy in Ashley with a small bodyshop that does Corvettes and may be able to help. He has been there along time right in the middle of town.

I remember seeing a similar car being offered for sale in Hot Rods classified section in the early eighties.

  6. I still have family and friends in the area and I'm out there at least once a year and haven't found anyone who remembers anything about the car or the engine.
