I did a search and nothing too current popped up. Anyone on here have a 6-71 strapped onto their nailhead? If so Id love to message you with a few questions. Thanks

  2. In my research, the blower is not going to get you much because of the exhaust port configuration and valve size. The race boys installed a special cam and ran the blower thru the exhaust side and the larger intakes became the exhaust.
Buick did play with a Paxton supercharger and a set of special heads that had a D code. Rumor has it that only 4 sets of those heads were made.
There is a guy in California that is said to be the best at porting the stock heads and is stated to really help. I will dig up his name a post it.

One name comes to mind. And he’s a Legend.
    TV TOMMY IVO.
He’s run about everything Buick that’s ever been.

    it has been done.
I see new manifolds can be made special order by BDS not cheap but they could be a source for parts and info.

There's a fella on V8buick that built one and drove it for quite a while, had it in a '62 Wildcat.. There's an intake on eBay right now for one, too (I've been debating a multi carb set-up on my 322 in my Merc and it popped up in a search.)....

I’ve got the manifold already. All the parts are available. Hampton Blowers sells a complete kit for 401 and 425. I’ve got a vintage blower drive and a few other parts I wanna use I was just curious about what cam and induction most guys used. As of right now I’m planning to run a 2 port Hilborn. We shall see.

Hampton would most surely be a good start. they used to make a kit /etc manifold for everything. I’ve even seen some early stuff where they took dual quad intakes and machined for blower set ups.
    Just another idea.

Don’t forget Tony Nancy either with 22 JR.
There have been several articles on it and the dragsters also.
Always liked his interiors with the sea horse sewn in. Kinda his trade mark if I remember
    Correctly.

    Hello,

In the late 1959 season, there was a flurry of a new 671 appearing on Tommy Ivo’s Buick FED.
    upload_2025-5-30_2-52-38.png
The injected Buick FED was already fast and held plenty of dragstrip records all over So Cal. But, the need for speed was always there.
    upload_2025-5-30_2-53-56.png
So Cal was the hot bed for fast race cars and the class was popular with the "big names," participating to be the top eliminator weekly.

The races in late 59 were classic. Win some, lose some…

But, in late 1959, the local Lion’s Dragstrip racers were treated to the latest from the Tommy Ivo camp.

The new build was loud, very fast and a new direction in racing…

We all wondered what happened to the short span of the 671 supercharged Buick FED. upload_2025-5-30_2-57-26.png
It was a surprise that the twin showed up, but everyone was amazed of the new build. So, what happened to the 671 buick FED race car?

Well, it went to a close friend and fellow racer:

The "newish" FED started with carburetors and eventually went to a 671 Hemi motor for power. Then the race cars were too short to have an advantage with so much power... YRMV
