I'd like to put a set if Halibrand Sprints on my '34 Vicky and switch from whitewalls to blackwalls. Is anyone running them that got them after Halibrand re-grouped? How's the quality compared to the originals? And lastly, do they have the raised Halibrand logo on them?

    Thanks...Mike

I looked at the Halibrands at their booth at the NSRA Nationals in KY. The ones there looked real good........and had the Halibrand name near the valve stem hole......just like the old days.......

    BUT......

I was going to buy 4 ...right then and there and they would not sell me any....for ca$h. This was early Thursday .about 11 o'clock. They said they were out of Sprints with the 4.5 wheel pattern.....( standard Ford ) but would gladly take my money and ship me the ones I needed....

I wanted 2 15X4 and 2 15X8 standard offset. I watched them tell another fellow the same thing but he wanted Chevrolet pattern.....

May have been a legitimate thing ...but with their recent business history ......I kept my money in my pocket and walked on....

I plan on running 15X6 on the front because it has fenders and 15X7 or 8 on the rear. They say they have them in stock now. I'm thinking of buying the flat knock offs for the front and the regular knock offs for the rear. My concern was quality and the logo.....Thanks...Mike

Mike, I won't type it all out here, but you should phone me and I'll explain what you need to know about this.

Saw them at HRR Show last week and the guy in the booth was a real *****. Asked a couple of questions about the QC, etc. and he couldn't be bothered to answer them. And that's despite the fact that I was the only one in his booth. Then he tells me they have all the info on the V8 QC on their web site, which I know isn't the case, so I get home and check again, and of course, there's nothing there. As for the wheels, they're made in China, so just be aware of what you're getting (***uming you ever get them) and who you're doing business with (if you don't know the background of this group, you might want to look into that before you send them any money).

I would find out a lot more about "Halibrand" before doing business with them. When a brand name changes hands this often, its best to know who you are dealing with.

Personally, I like the Tacoma Cream wires and wide whites. But that's a look that I favor. Halibrand style wheels will give it an entirely different look.

    To each his own opinion.

If you really want to change wheels I would take a good look at Real Wheels. The guy doing them is doing a good job and has been shipping right quick. I got some 15X5.5s and 15X10s to ship to a customer in Portugal and they were *****in.

I like the look also. I've driven this car off and on since 1962 and its had tacoma cream wires and wide whites. First the 17" and now 15". I'm just looking for a change. I will probably switch back and forth....Mike

those guys were probably still wondering how they could get so-cal to stop making their new kindey bean wheels.....hahah ....if you were there ...then you also seen the sign in the middle of the display......that pretty much said it all.....they did answer all of my questions...except for a date on the 16x11's....brandon

it said something to the effect... that halibrand copys were not going to be tolerated....(wish i would have taken my camera) and you could tell it was something that wasn't originally in the display ....i have been kicking around getting a pair of 15x4.5's from them ....to see how good/bad they are.....worse case ....i have to give them a coat of new cast spray paint....and make them look like magnesium......hahaha .....brandon
