WW2 tanks should be yellow, except for the green apple bail-out bottle.

I have one as an air compressor, bought it on craigslist, kinda cool. Only good for tires, but what the heck for $25.

One of the common sizes useta was practically standard equipment on small wreckers and gas station trucks as a portable compressed air tank.
They come in a number of sizes from many different wartime applications.

The yellow oxygen tanks hold just under 8 gallons. Legality? No issue there. As cool as they are, 8 gallons is not enough though.

a friend of mine's father ran a 34 coupe in the late 40's with a big one for gas and a small one for compressed air to pump the gas

I'm using two on the back of my IHC pickup, that should give me enough gas to make some good trips.

Thanks for the input. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm getting ready to start my Engineering degree but it's been a long time since I've done anything more than BASIC math and I was having a hard time figuring out what the capacity of one would be based upon a rough idea that they are about 1 ft in diameter and 2 ft in length. I plan to use two in the bed of my truck and running them on a switch so I can always have a "reserve".

My Friend has one that's an air bubble. So does my Girl's Dad. I never knew they had been oxygen tanks in a previous life until I started hanging out here. later Josh.

I maybe be mixing up my oil tank and oxygen tank numbers (I think it is the oil tank that holds 8 gallons), but I am pretty sure that the Oxygen tanks won't hold almost 12 gallons. I'm pretty sure that the MAX is 10 gallons. I'll measure mine when I get to the shop this evening.

One thing I wanted to do was to have the oxygen tank be connected to a larger hidden floor tank to increase the capacity.
