Believe its a 55-6. Rebuilt about 30 years ago, tag still on it: .030 over; 10/10 crank.
Been in a local farmers sawmill planer. Started smoking so they replaced it. No nasty noises.

    PM me for any questions.

Its too far for me or i would want it. I have a few of these engines from the 248 up thru the 302. They are very good engines have more cubes that the 216 and 235s and offer a better oiling system etc. Makes a great replacement in a 50 chevy etc. Tons of speed stuff still out there and run with tons of torque.
I run the 302 version in my model A and it will pull a teardrop trailer all day long and still hang in there with most of the early engines etc. We are building a HA/GR rail with one in it , should be at Goodguys Indianapolis.

Ive had many different 6 holers (and Buick 8's) but never been a fan of one in a rod. Sold a running 57 302 complete from radiator to trans last year, had a bidders cat fight going on Ebay! Then I parted out the cab and nose (super solid and straight) and couldnt believe the prices paid.

Run a Ford 300 in one of our delivery vans. Even with a C6 and a 2.75 9" the thing hauls my loaded car trailer with ease.
