Finally got my photoshop files back and finished this badass T Bird. I left the front grill section flat black because I really think it adds to the********** aspect of this beast! I sure hope you post this beast in action on YouTube!

Oh wow, I've never seen a squarebird done like that!
    Awesome!

I'm thinking black and gold Watson style with black being the predominate color.

This was kinda like my first thought. The body lines beg for three colors. I'd switch the silver and red. Use a metal flake silver color where the red is but keep the top black. Make it a mile deep black. Then make the bullet (where the grey is) midnight blue to go with the engine or a dark shade of smoke grey (almost black). It's probably going to look good no matter what color you paint it.

Does no one else want to see this with flames?

  6. Yes!!! ^^

This is exactly what I would do with it then drive it like I stole it.

That or candy red over gold.

That's pretty sweet Eli. I'm so glad they could save your files, and thank you for another pic. Now I like the mile deep black idea even more.

I can't wait to talk to Waynerd and get his opinion.

  8. Black would be****s but that car. Also needs a pair of crossed flags on the doors (roundy track fashion) ... and stickers, lots of stickers.

And the fun begins. More pics when he drops it off in the morning.

  11. Flames look good!
    Black suits it,
but I reckon bright purple metalflake and a gold metalflake roof. Heheh.

    And it arrives....

I have had the pleasure of hours of conversation about this build with Wayne. The more we talk, the more we understand each other on exactly what needs to be done. He is going to work on the doors while we make a few glass parts. It will still take another year before the final paint decision will be made. We are still asking for opinions. For now, here is a sneak peek for the photoshop guys.

This car is badass! Whats it going to be used for?

  14. I'm gonna go slightly off of black and say an extremely dark glossy metallic gray, ALMOST black. I think it would make the lines of the car stand out just a tad more, the metallic would pop a bit more than the straight black, and it would still keep its sinister vibe!

I'm thinking an original color of that year. Maybe wimbledon white with some race car lettering. I don't see it as a custom so Watson style doesn't work for me. Keep it modest, don't over do it.

Waynerd has a passion for two things. Drag racing and living life to the limit. This car brings all of that together. While I'm sure it will see many 1/4 mile passes, he wants to be able to get in it at any given time and drive where ever he wants.
Thanks for your help and the compliments Eli.

I can appreciate a good 1/4 mile piece, but man, that thing just SCREAMS roundy-round!

Roll back the clock 50yrs, Saturday night, asphalt short track, that thing is THERE!

White or gold top, metallic blue or maroon body, done! :D

^^^^The nail has been hit on the head here. Me personally I would use black w/ gold letters maybe roof, and red highlights!

Please no scallops on this car! Just because its a Bird doesn't mean it has to hava a panel or scallop job, its got a tough looking vibe and panels and scallops just don't fit!

I think it would look great in that bright solid blue that Boss Mustangs had around '70, but then I like blue.

If you have a side shot of the car with a slightly lower camera height, so I can put it on a trailer. Perspective isn't so much of a deal, as the trailer could appear at a slight angle, as if its being towed. Hope that makes sense:confused:
Or if you have a side shot of the car on a trailer, that might make even more sense.

  24. ummm some how i missed this thread until now........ if im not mistaken i read where your going to be "making " glass parts????? as in fiberglass body parts? would they be stock style or parts made to fit your obviously not stock bird?

if they would be usable on a more stock bird i know someone (who owns a few 60 t-birds) who might be interested in them

your bird is interesting and i hope by seeing the beautiful red 60 you painted that this car was a bady rusted up parts car or something

i wouldnt paint it black allthough the one photoshopped with flames looks awesome id do it in colonial (wimbeldon ) white with a gold or blue roof with matching colored numbers on the doors

    interesting......

i thought of slimming the bulk of the front bumper the same way you have i did it on a modelcar (that has yet to be finished) a lot of years ago

    Does this help Eli?

This is the day I met Waynerd. It was at the Rust Revival. I'll be seeing him soon and I'm sure he won't mind putting it on a trailer for a pose this year.
Here is a link to our fun.

I think I can see where you going with this?

The tow truck Eli has in mind.....

The body lines will get lost in black, a nice pearl will pop the bodylines without going overboard on 2 tone, maroon pearl is my vote,

Brian I think I can come up with something based on the many pictures of the car. I actually have a whole weekend off so maybe I can make some progress unless my HoneyDo list gets too big. lol

Had a bit of a problem putting together a photoshop of Waynerds car and my photopshop Towbird. Changed another picture instead.
Threw a blown Cammer in the back of the Towbird just for good measure. :D
