I have a 37 Ford Coupe I'm building with 351C with EFI and am going to install a T5 trans behind it. I originally had bought a used t5 off craigslist "that was just rebuilt" I swapped on a mechanical s10 tail housing and did the speedometer gear mods. The transmission had a terrible whine it immediately when going down the road. Upon dis***embly the transmission had some major issues. So fast forward a few months and I bought a brand new in the crate T5Z transmission from Ford. I was planning on doing the s10 conversion on it but I'm having a hard time talking myself into breaking open a brand new transmission. It got me thinking how bad would it be to have the shifter further back. How was it for comfort? Currently the car has a recovered original 37 bench seat in it and it ****s. I'd like to go to something more modern so this opens up the opportunity for a further back shifter. Anyone have any pics with a fat fendered ford with a T5 Camaro or Mustang tail housing on it? Thanks
i dont have pics but remember how the shift lever was in a cobra? you might end up with something along those lines with a bend up.
Hamilton Transmission in the Chico, CA. area does do a lot of T-5 adapters. I think the site address is www.hamiltontransmission.com Leave a messsage. Normbc9
