I'm going to be in OKC for work for 2 weeks starting Monday night - anything interesting happening there? Any must-see places? Any must-eat restaurants?

Do you work for the Postal Service? The reason i ask is they have a large training facility in Norman Ok. Ive been out there at least a dozen times. Im an electronics tech with the p.o.. Try Daryl Starbirds facility in Alton Ok. Later Mike

  3. Ernie,

Visit the National Cowboy and Western Heritage museum while you are here. And if you are into memorials, visit the Murrah Building Memorial in downtown OKC. One of my favorite places to eat is Dan's Hamburgers in South Oklahoma City. He has a nice collection of Coke memorabilia in addition to making good old fashion hamburgers.

Finally, if you would like to visit some car folks, we are having our club meeting at Don's Alley in Del City this Tuesday evening. We start eating at 6:00 P.M. and are usually done by 8:30. Don's has some of the best home made chicken and noodles I ever eaten. You can get on 24th Avenue in Norman and follow it north to Del City (about 20 miles), turn west on SE 29th street, go 3/4 miles and look on your right (north) for Don's.

  5. It's actually against the law in OKC to have fun. At least, if the City can't directly charge you admission for that particular fun, they don't want it.

To answer your question, there are indeed things to do and see here. There is the minor league Blazers hockey team, the things mentioned above, plenty of restaurants and stuff in Bricktown (pay to park), and other things. Too early for car shows or events, obviously.

Starbird's little museum is nearly 170 miles away, east of Tulsa, in AFton.

It was actually pretty warm after the first couple of days. Then we got a tornado or two the second week.

Thanks to everyone who PMed me - I was very busy first week & then got sick the second week, so I apologize for not getting in touch with anyone :(

The Starbird car show is going to be here in Tulsa (about 90 miles away) on Fri, Sat, and Sun.
