I'm confused to say the least on which flexplate to use for this engine trans combo going in my 59 ford. 86 302 from a F150 with a C6, 86 AOD from a Mustang GT. I have read several posts from different forums about a similar marriage, however I come away more confused. Is the 86 non GT motor a 28 or 50 oz. imbalance? If it is a 28 oz. imbalance do I use the 351 W flexplate? Which block plate? HELP this old man out before he goes completely crazy.

1980 and later 302 aka 5.0's are 50 oz balance, the 351W kept the old 28oz balance, you need to also be sure you have the block spacer plate for the AOD to match the Mustang AOD flexplate or you will have some nasty starter problems.A good site for AOD info is www.clickclickracing.com
