My Dad Pat Foster and I were talking the other day and he was stressed overworked........I said get some help!, his answer was there is no one around here. I call bullshit.

My dad restores and recreates very nice vintage Top Fuel/funnycars

He drove , built, tuned these kinda cars, also ran Mickey Thompsons LSR program , did some time with GTP series champion cars for Nissan.

You would learn "real world" race car building from one of the best there is .

    If you had no skills:

    couple hours a day-
The least would be someone to come in a few days (maybe more) and do basic clean up......That is hard to find, someone that moves things to sweep ,pays attention to where tools go ,and what is going on in the shop as far as parts need to be left out ,put away, and not throw away.

If someone could clean up well, not have to ask to do everything, ( just pick a shelf to straiten or bust a clean up out on the bathroom.
If you could pass this test ,(rare) I know dad would let you do more daily on the racecar end.

If you had basic fab skill, : part time to full time -

that means you could run and change blades on the band saw. know what size a nut and bolt is by looking at it.

be able to turn on the welder and Tac weld.
use the 20 inch sander and not hurt yourself.
Help ship parts out, run erons

My dad has a ol time work ethic , and that means show up when you say you are going to, dont bull shit him ( he will know) and watch , listen, learn.

Do what he says his way and you will get lessons that would of taken a lifetime.

My dad has a good sense of humor, fairplay, and attitude much younger then his age.

He dosent care if you are tattooed, cool, what you drive, or if you have been in prison, Just do as he says,be honest, trust worthy, and hard working, if it is just a romantic dream to build racecars to impress your friends or if your bed room is a total mess and you have a habit of always having your hands in your pockets dont bother. if you were the kid that took the trash cans out without being told every week and know what its like to really put in a day of work then step up............ please just write me on my e-mail if anyone is interested . salinasboy@aol.com

    Thanks - Cole

I'd love to send him my 14 year old. Maybe he could bring back some knowledge and skills to my house!! He's got the messy bed room down pat but he's killer when in comes to work ethic.

There's always one guy in high school metalshop class that is much better than the rest. When I was a freshman many of us shop kids worked in service stations. Course they are all gone now.

I would have jumped at working in a real shop (machine or fab), if only to push a broom and stock the shelves. Way better than changing oil and fan belts for old ladies...

    Something to consider...

I think the cost of living is about as low as it gets. I dont know about shops there , have not been to my dads place yet.

should be able to check out living /work spaces online I think.

Isnt there a club around there called "the Knuckle draggers" ? maybe they could help with some info.
