Approaching stash holders?

    No, not that kind of stash.

    I live in a rural county, and now that winter has finally stripped the leaves off the trees, I'm seeing a lot more stashes of old vehicles/equipment sitting around in fields/pastures. Only problem, they're behind fences. I'd like to document this stuff, merely photograph it. I don't have the money, skill, or imagination to even begin trying to fix one of these up.

    How do you approach people to ask them to look at this stuff? I'm not much of a talker, my plan is to plainly state what my intentions are. Good/bad idea? I have conditioned myself to accept the backside full of rock salt...
     
  2. problem is most people like this have seen a 57 chevy convertable sell for $75,000 so they think there 51 packard 4 door must be worth $35,000. i don't think most people will mind you taking pictures. just do what you said and tell them your intentions. but i you come across an old farmer that says you can hall off that old 49 mercury if you want it. holler at me.
