This is one of the best looking T intakes I have seen. Dan do you have one under the shelf or behind a box? Great looking T.
Here is a picture of the intake when we were building the engine. The manifold was a creation of a great SoCal hot rod guy by the name of Bud Hand. Not sure how many he made, but I only know of two of them. The other one is owned by a friend of mine in Indiana.
I have this ancient version of the same manifold tucked away for a Riley T project. Bud sure did a great job reinforcing the flanges, you can see where mine has been repaired.
Thanks for posting that Mike- I was not aware that an "original" version existed. Any idea of the origin of your manifold? They were obviously make for running on a block with the intake ports elongated. I was fortunate to get mine only a few months before I wanted to have the engine finished, as the original plan was to fabricate a tubing manifold and run a downdraft S or SR on it. Its running a B size barrel valve now.
Bud Hand was also involved in amateur sports car racing in the 50's. As I recall. he built and drove an MG Special out of his Gas Station/Garage in Santa Monica CA. If he's still living he would be in his mid-nineties. ]
No competitors were willing to come out and play at Buttonwillow Raceway Park the middles of this month; so we had to pull the plug on the "PreWar/Historics" race group!
What head is used at Bonneville Salt Flats on the Ford 4 cyl engines. That will give you some guidance.
