2nd Annual Kansas HAMB-B-Q and Reliability Run

All HAMBers that want to make the trip.

Bring your hotrod or custom, (or your daily driver). Bring your wives, kids or Dads. Or fly solo.

My house- Abilene Kansas.

Schedule to be determined. We will do a drive around and eat some bar-b-que, grill some dogs and burgers.

 

I'd love to go, we'll see if the car is ready. It takes longer when its not on tv.

 

Unless work submarines me, I'm there. Travis will be bringing his own pop!

and is looking for a fastback mustang body, or a 64-65 fairlane to put it in.

Marquette is a nice little town and I've heard good things about the bike museum but I think that might be another cruise. It's not right next to Jay's.

As for another cruise it would be cool to do the bike museum, head over to the almost ghost town of Carneiro, and end up in the town of Kanopolis to catch a movie at their old drive in theater.

 

I may try to make this one. The wife and I are expecting so it may be tough to get away, but then she may want me gone anyway, so we'll see.

 

Do we get to watch you try to remove the top while driving again? ;-)

 

I was thinking maybe the Kansas Auto Racing Museum in Chapman. Doesn't HAMBer KSGerry work there?

 

I hope not. I've improved it since KC, but I haven't really tested it yet. So I'll just go ahead and give it an 80% chance of trying to fly away again... Hopefully I'll have enough time between getting the new engine installed and the BBQ that I can go back and work on the top some more.

 

Last year it was like 90* and the leaves weren't out on the trees enough to provide really decent shade LOL. We had the slip-n-slide set up for the kids though.

And my coupe was in a million pieces...

 

I'm there this year!

Dang, I'm going to be in Virginia that weekend. Don't know if I'll have my car re-wired by then or not anyway if it doesn't warm up. Hard to work with wires when your fingers are frozen.

Jay...would really love to but I doubt the 40 chev will be ready that early. I'm shootin for the HAMB drags. New job is very demanding on my time..thanks....maybe things will change before then..

That's ok with me for the potluck deal. Let's put on this thread what you are bringing so we don't duplicate stuff.

I will for sure get:

BBQ (I am having a pork shoulder done)

Dogs
Potato Salad
Coca-Cola
Orange jello dessert
and anything else not covered

But I want to be sure and convey that nobody should feel obligated to bring anything- just show up, relax and have fun!
