A while back I posted pics of a bunch of kids sanding my 48 so I could put a fresh coat of "primer" on it. That was just a project for them one week when we had nothing else for them to do. They have been working on a 29 roadster pick up since the beginning of the year. Well it's starting to look like something now. Last week they put the chassis together and learned how to run brake lines. This week the class was small because the rest of the kids were getting a float ready for a parade. They put the motor in the chassis and set the body on. Here are some pics Clark
I guess I should add for those that didn't see the other post that these are troubled kids. They have done something wrong and a judge has appointed them to this program. They are a great bunch of kids. Most of them you cann't beleive they have gotten into trouble. When I came to the class we started to teach them how to fix the rusty body. They cut and welded in patch panels. The panels aren't perfect but for a bunch of kids that had never used a welder they came out OK. Next they did a little body working. We didn't do too much because the place we are havin the class also has some good electronic equipment that would get screwed up by the dust. The project is to be done for York and the kids are getting a fieldtrip to the show. Clark
Boones ...right now the guy that runs the class owns it. I'm just helping. The school has a chance to buy it for what he has in it. This class has been an experament and the future of it is unknown at this point. The kids have a great time and have learned a good bit. Clark
