Has anyone seen/built/heard about a 34 with Ardun heads on the flathead? I’m trying to see if they can be fit to a flatty in the stock position without cutting the firewall. I realize the fenders and hood sides will need a nip out of them.

Any pics or personal accounts are appreciated. This is for a very good cause.

@IronTrap has a blown Ardun in his 3 window. It’s channeled but I think he could give you an idea of what will or won’t clear. Or worse case give you some measurements off the back of his engine to compare to yours/ broadcast off yours to check.

Yeah, I’ve seen that car. I’m hoping someone who has a 34 with stock engine placement can tell me if the heads will fit without cutting into the firewall. Kinda wondering if it could be a semi bolt on deal.

If someone near Iowa has a 34 with a flathead on stock mounts, we’d even be willing to bring the heads to try on it.

There was a pic of a leather jacketed fella with a sweety on the running board of a 34 roadster at a service station...it looked old and I think it was an ardun powered ride...I'll see if I can find it...it might not bare much fruit but it was quite the looker...

@alchemy, weren't they designed for Flatheads by Zora? I also believe it was Zora who was also involved with the Corvette but I suspect he was freelancing as a designer. I'm not a big reader but wonder since you mentioned on flatheads and I do also understand there are the early flatheads and later more sought for hotrodding due to improvements in design.

The outward positioning of all the flatheads would put the head in the same location. So if it fits a 59A, it will also fit an 8BA.

We don’t want to talk about Corvette engines for this project.

You need to reach out to Model40Matt on Instagram. I’m sure he’s on here also but he’ll be able to answer your questions. Don’t look like he cut the fire wall. I think he’s running a 39 trans but I’m not sure.

    Hey @alchemy and @Stogy
I cant really offer any real helpful information about the very cool, Ardun powered, 36 Ford that I photographed back at the Good-guys show back in 2021.
    Thanks from Dennis.
