A friend of mine used to own the casting patterns for the Ardun covers, but he sold them to a guy in Colorado who is now making and selling them. I see him at swap meets occasionally with lots of Ardun stuff. Anybody know how to get in touch with him?
Here are some pictures, they were just cast ARDUN but do have some ID numbers cast in also. They appear to have had ARDUN letters painted gold. Thank you all for the help. Hopefully we can find these valve covers for him before it's too late.
Those are later heads, and the covers originally came with small brass tags below the ARDUN that said "made in England". Maybe you can see the small dots where the rivets were. Nothing to do with this case, but I remember at the Nationals swap meet in Columbus (1984ish) a vendor had a set of Ardun stuff, and had a few parts stolen. Understandably he packed up immediately and was very pissed.
Sorry to hear about the theft of the ARDUN valve covers I will spread the word to the ARDUN owners I know. If the original covers are not found IM sure a new set of valve covers can be purchased from Don Ferguson. Wanted 1932 Ford Pickup Rear Fenders
Years ago in Campbell (San Jose) 1963, a couple of guys leased an old Texaco station on Bascom Avenue, near Hamilton Ave. (right next door to the mansion that is now EBay!) They had a '30 'A' Roadster, full fendered, metallic lavender, with an Ardun Merc in it. We stopped by one day to say hello, and they told us someone had broken in during the night and stole the Ardun covers and the Pounden magneto! We speculated that it had to be someone that knew them, as the car hadn't debuted yet. Don't know if they ever found it. It made me more mad than sad...
About all we can do is keep a watch for them. It's one sick bastard that will strip anothers car and if found a lesson should be taught them at the end of a base ball bat.
