We had a very interesting seminar today at the AACA museum in Hershey. Lynn Paxton (from Eastern Museum of Motor Racing) Was the guest speaker. Lynn has a vast knowledge of vintage race cars and engines. Some of the Ardun history was given to him from Zora Duntov. The meeting today was also on Zoom and was well attended. If I get the zoom address for the seminar, I Will post it. Dave Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
Dave. let Jeff know they need to do more of this type of thing. I know you know but it doesn't hurt to push the button. It was a good day.
Sometime, we think that we know quite a bit about certain subjects, but when we hear details about how Some speed parts actually were designed and built it adds to our historical knowledge. Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
Ronnieroadster, wish you had been there. He said there were possibly only about 10 sets of V8 60 heads produced. I remember you having a pair a few years ago at Hershey. Is it my imagination that says I heard some were made in South America?
I'm sure I could have added more information like when I was able to see the very first set of Ardun heads a couple of years ago and tell the complete story about their existence. I also could have shown the original valve train blue prints from the original designer oh well maybe next time. The set of V-8 Sixty heads I had at Hershey were the ones made in Brazil actually produced in the mid sixty's by Chrysler a whole story in itself.
I suspect Lynn Paxton is an interesting person in general to talk to!!... he was among the best Pennsylvania sprint car racers in his day...
