Here's a neat old barn find ARDUN the complete history is unknown tuning her up after a complete rebuild. Engine is now in a full fendered deuce roadster that hasn't changed a bit since it was first put together as a Hot Rod in 1949.

Here's a ride along our 292 Cube ARDUN blown on gas powering the family's rear engine modified roadster Speedweek 2017 at mile three record run 224 MPH plus a red hat for my son Ron Jr.

That Draggin' Dreamboat on the cover was one extremely well detailed roadster. I used to have that copy around here somewhere...

Here's the actual designer of the ARDUN heads George Kudash he worked for ARDUN and was given the task of designing the heads. in 1947.

Here's George at his drafting table on the table is a blueprint of his design the ARDUN head dated September 1947.
George spent his life until retirement in 1981 designing systems for Sikorski helicopters. A number of his designs were patented. He along with his wife Rita lived a quiet life in Stratford CT they never had any children. The ARDUN project was the only automotive design George did.

Here's the story on how George came to work for Zora.

Zora knew George by his acquaintance of Georges sister. Zora offered George a job at ARDUN by way of a message to Georges sister if he was able to come to New York City.

Upon arriving in the United States in 1947 landing at Ellis island in New York George went right to work at ARDUN. George and Rita only spoke Russian at that time. George told me he learned how to speak english from the janitor who worked at ARDUN. Prior to arriving at Ellis island Rita and George were living in a refugee camp in Switzerland after escaping from Germany during WW2.

My wife and I are very fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend time with Rita and George. Being able to interview George documenting everything about George's time working for Zora on the head project is priceless. George never knew the ARDUN was so important to so many.

The discovery of George's name on a hand drawn Christmas's post card that he sent to Zora a long time ago was how his involvement designing the head came about. The post card was discovered in the archives files of Zoras at GM.

From that post card the facts unknown prior to that time about the ARDUN design were now finally known.

I have this one, hoping to someday to build it back into one of the original cars it was in. This is proving to be much harder than I originally expected. I may have to settle for recreating the FED car my Dad ran it in for now, as I don’t own a Chrome shop to re create the Scotty’s T car. 1D094679-26C1-49F7-A717-4177D6858236.jpeg B3AC6217-1532-4A5B-9441-90AB382BD202.jpeg 6967CCA9-B3EF-41D5-9C82-ABE5797B7BAB.jpeg DEB72809-7BE2-48D4-A5AD-CD11DF5F22C4.jpeg C8112EDC-5AE9-4D7F-80FE-23391C901EF6.jpeg 7D8783B3-F38D-462B-89B7-C0BFC20DF547.jpeg 3ABC8E7A-D21C-4CE4-9FEC-4E1C866988D1.jpeg

    I have a story. . . .
A friend of mine and an old time drag racer invited me up to his place to check out some Model A stuff for sale. We went into his basement and on a shelf I see a pair of Ardun heads. I said " whoah, look at those" He was shocked that I knew what they were. He has a complete set up. He's putting together a T roadster to put it in. That was a very good day.

5 weeks ago, a buddy shows me a set of Ardun covers that go over a small block Chevy that he bought at an auction the day before. The paperwork said only a hand full were made.

I did this as a joke about 25 years ago. DeSoto valve covers on a Chevy. Guess I could have called it an Ardun -- about half the street rodders thought it was a Chrysler.

Speed Age -- December 1949. Production numbers and cost. Written in an article by Roger Huntington called First Principles of Engine "Souping" Scan_20230513.png Thanks to @aspark1 and @WiredSpider as I acquired more issues of Speed Age from them as advertised in the HAMB. I have lots more to post as the time goes by. I recently saw 5 original sets on a visit a month ago.
