Are Roller Rockers good for extended street use?

    Didn't read all the posts, but GM uses a roller fulcrum on their new (unmentionable) version of a small Chevy V8. They are pretty good but high performance requires an upgrade of the base rocker arm so that the bearings stay retained. Aftermarket rockers come in lots of variations and with your setup I would look at a higher quality one. Hard to say that ALL roller rockers are good and will last.........and equally difficult to say ALL of them won't. Pick good ones and pay more for them. They often are rebuildable if a problem develops. Remember too that increasing your rocker ratio will increase lift and may interfere with valve retainers hitting valve seals, or binding springs. I have a reference that I have posted before, and it seems perfect for your question....so here it is again.

    Hopefully you are better equipped to make a decision now. ;)
    Edit add: Recently a fellow Hamber was having a vibration problem and he traced it to the studs flexing. If you look at shaft mounted rockers you won't possibly need girdles.
