Over the years I have found quite a few cars that were priced above the current collector price guides, and I still thought they were a great buy. The guides always seem to be too low. For example, a 1932 Ford 3 window in fair condition is listed as $11,000 on Manheim Gold. Anybody know of any 1932 3 windows in fair condition for $11,000? What is the point of collector price guides if they are never right?

Most are probably never right. They are nothing more than what they say, a "Guide".:) :D

I find that Old Cars Price Guide is better than most when it comes to prices. However, there are always discrepancies.

I always find that the price guide's prices are high if I'm selling and low when I'm buying.

Collectible Automobile publishes the most realistic price guides in the back of each issue (for the cars they feature). They give ranges, conditions, etc.

Ultimately, of course, it's whatever deal a buyer/seller can agree to.
