I just returned from a trip to Yellowstone and didn't see a single hot rod in the state of Wyoming. I saw a model T race in Montana after I left the park but nothing in Wyoming. Where are you guy's????

  2. I'm curious myself since my father used to live there!

No, the wind blows them all into Colorado.
Actually there are, but like everything else in Wyoming, the're just few and far between.

Lots of them during the Jackson Hole Rendezvous. But that was a couple weeks ago and the host club is out of Idaho Falls. Eastern Idaho Early Iron- E.I.E.I.O.

Hey now. I spent a year at Wyotech in that tiny ass town of Laramie. A few decent cars showed up for the school's annual car show (Mainly traveling from colorado or students cars). But besides the few instructors at Wyotech that have some pretty decent cars, I'd say there are no hot rods in Wyoming.

While I worked at tech i got to see hot rods all the time, my friends had them, we traveled around to check out future ones, in August a few would stop on the way to and from Bonneville. But it's far for being SoCal.

My brother has 180 acres in a small town called Buford Wyoming. It's between Cheyenne and Laramie. He had an old model T body on his land that he told me I could have but the wyotechers beat me to it. It was in a secluded valley but they got it out somehow. The only gate was right in front of his house. I guess I just wasn't fast enough.

We were at Jackson Hole skiing a few years back, and drove over to Grand Targhee to ski for the day. Went thru a small town, maybe Alta, Wyoming, and there was a 32 Ford roadster pulling out of the gas station – rust, primer, no fenders, no top, a real hot rod being driven by some guy in a heavy jacket and cowboy hat in the snow at about 20 degrees. Snow piled high everywhere and snowing pretty heavily and this guy is out there. A real hot rod in Wyoming, the real deal.

    Oh yeah, they are there.

Part of the beauty of Wyoming is the lack of masses of people, therefore less traffic, therefore less visible hot rods. They like it that way.

Casper Wyoming probably has more Hotrods per capita than most cities around. We have some great builders. Ramirez Rod & Custom ( Cris Ramirez is one of the most talented builders and painters in the country)

You saw it in Montana - only model T's are considered hotrods. We're still using anything newer as daily drivers...........

  20. I rule Wyoming...and for everyone's information, Jackson Hole (Teton County) is NOT considered part of Wyoming. I drive my hotrod everyday, and the people around here look at me like I'm in a fucking spaceship.

  21. I used to know these guys, I was in a punk band in the mid 90s and we played with them a few times. I went to grade school with the drummer in a town of about 500 people. Now it's a band called Teenage Bottlerocket, they rule. Wyoming has the best of everything, just not much of it.

Well put! I bet there is more old iron just lying around in Wyoming and Montana than anywhere else in America. I spent 21 years living on the WY/MT border.

Was stationed in Cheyenne and lived in Laramie for about 18 months. Saw a ton of "Goat Ropers" driving 4x4 trucks and Skoal chewing women, but no Rods. This was in 75-76, they might have changed by now, but I doubt it. If it didn't involve a horse, they didn't have much use for it.

Why is Jackson not considered part of WY?? Because it's all touristy??

If you live near there can I couch surf at your place the night of Monday August 17th? :D I've been thru the area many times over the last 10 years and the prices for a room is outragous as you know.

I wish I was in Wyoming on Sand creek fly fishing one of my most favorite places. But I am in hell in TX heat!

  29. August 17th is my birthday! I live about 180 miles south of Jackson on I-80, if that helps. But yeah, Jackson's all gay and fake old west crap. It gives people the wrong idea about our great state. As far as I'm concerned, everything above I-80 Montana can have. I like living in the dirt and the stink, this is the real deal down here. The number one attraction to our town is the titty bar.
