The picture shows up really dark on my computer, but from what I can see of it, my first guess would be '62-'65 General Motors.

  3. They look a lot like the ones I pulled from a '64 Gran Prix. Could use to see the back of them though, do they have a chrome band around the sides and top? The inner (trans tunnel side) brackets should have the bolt holes horizontal instead of vertical, also, at least on 63-64 Pontiacs.

They look very similar to the seats from a '66 or '67 GTO that I put in my '67 Le Mans

I'd agree. My Buick's got the same seats, and years ago my brother had a similar looking black set from a '65 Impala that he put in his '56 Chevy back then.

I would agree. They look like the seats that were in my '63 Nova SS, because of the verticle middle stripe.

  13. Early 60s GM buckets really only differ in the pattern on the uhpolstery and possibly the mountings on the bottom, the rest is all the same as far as I know. I just looked at my seats again and the pattern down them is the same, although if I could see the top of the back of the seat I could say 100% for sure '64 Pontiac.

To be completely accurate, the first car to use this style seat was the 1960-61 Corvair Monza. In '62, Impala SS and Nova got them. The seats used in the full size cars had a continuous band of chrome trim that went up one side of the seat back, over the top, and down the other side, while the seats used in mid size cars like my '64 GTO had a chrome spear that went up the side of the seat back and narrowed to a point at the top. The seats I've removed from Corvairs over the years had painted trim.

Right. The Corvair seats had conventional rear mounts with bolt holes, but funky front mounts that resembled ski runners with rectangular brackets that bolted over the top of them to hold them down.

  16. They look like 1964 Pontiac GTO seats to me as well...

Beginning in 1966 GM came out with the Strato Bucket seat, which had a higher back.

  20. I'd say 64 Lemans/GTO also. The upholstery pattern seems to match the photo below of the buckets in my 64 GTO. The chrome trim as mentioned above will be the kicker.

Strato buckets came out in 1967. 1966 buckets were similar to the questioned ones.

"The seats I've removed from Corvairs over the years had painted trim."

On '65 & '66 Corvairs the inside trim was painted and the outside trim, which showed thru the doors, was chrome plated.

Strato buckets came in 66 SS impalas and Caprices. May have been in all GM fullsize and intermediates.

    I stand corrected ! :(

I guess I've spent too much time with Corvairs that only had the thin, tall buckets '67-'69!

  27. Definately 64 Lemans/GTO. They look like they cleaned up nice.

give us a pic of the seat straight on from the front, they are not corvair from the way they fold. the tops of the back look different than those red 64' lemans seats pictured.
