Technical Are those tail lights in your hubcaps or are you just confused to see me?

Just ordered a set of these off Epay. Figured if I mount them inside the hubcap, it would light up a blue (green) dot mounted in the hubcap

I did some research hoping to find some Cal Customish late 50s early 60s offering but found nothing. What I did find is a modern offering that could surly be cleverly adapted to a vintage theme discussed...and illuminate cleverly adapted period circular tailights...there are so many...

I can't help but think this more Custom leaning than Hotrod as Hotrods are bare bones, noisy and fast without visual pizazz were Customs have been more viable to showcase the wow of innovation and neat tricks...

I was reading up on those tires and it seemed the originals were hollow as conventional tires but the new reproductions were solid and had a limitation of 5mph......I guess that means no mobile movie cameos.

In the early 60s in San Berdoo, there was a 34 coupe that had 53 Olds "flipper" hubcaps on the front wheels. The were stationary. Probably screwed to the end of the axle. I'd guess someone could put a light in the middle of one and wire it without wrapping it around the spindle in the first few feet.

This is off of a Mercury, this might be the elusive hub cap that was in the publication that you had mentioned.

That modern center cap I posted earlier in this thread self generates from revolution and there are solar chipped ones as well.

I suspect self generating technology may be older than we think...question is would it weigh a couple of ounces and fit in a 3" diameter hole?
