When we got hit in '03, the Red Cross AND the Salvation Army were just wonderful people!!! Both stopped by daily for ten days, providing hot meals, water, gatorade, and offered personal hygiene items and such, and to just see how we were getting along. Both deserve your support and donations. I'll sing the praises of both organizations all day long! Also, remember Feed The Children and the Regional Food Bank, as well.
these two belong to a co-worker who lives just west of Cement, OK. sucky part is.........all this damage was done by the firecracker stand he had in his front yard. the wind just picked it up and threw it like nothing. the guy's a good dude. about two months ago he put in crazy overtime that he used to buy tires for a local Native American pastor who's raising like eight kids.
I'm from originally from Wagoner, Ok. I remember as a little kid haveing to camp out in the storm cellars during tornados, not fun at all especially for a lil kid. We almost lost one of our stores in Moore yesterday(4 Wheel Parts). I hope everyone gets through this OK. Now back to our earthquakes.
god bless all of you in need, the red cross is having a drive tomorrow, im stopping by to donate cash. its being held at the rose bowl in pasadena if anyone else wants to donate.
Missed our current residence in Edmond by about a mile and a half...however went directly through our new property (N of Luther) and shredded 2 mobile homes there, uprooted a dozen LARGE trees, downed power lines (from the other side of the road) and debris everywhere. Saw the roof of one of the homes wrapped around a power pole about a quarter mile away. However...we fared better than adjacent property owners that lost everything....and despite that we all fared better than the many in Carney, Shawnee, Moore and other areas. Sad Sad week here.
