Unfortunately, no. I had one of my employees go back to his old job (which wasn't over an hour one way to work like here), so I had to hang and work. We're just too swamped to be two guys short.

I had to post this shot too. Just because:

    Rad! The engine rules.....
You think it'll run in the 9's on those tires though????

Well, there are tons of Fox Body Mustangs that run 9's on street tires, as well as a few running in the high 8's on MT Cheater slicks. So I think it'll do fine. Three of us can pick the back end of the car up right now (sans tires, wheels and axle shafts.) No one can really call what a car will run until it hits the track, and then is dialed in (suspension, driver, motor, etc.). So we all only have the math to go off of right now.

  10. Holy shit Kevin, that kicks ass! Stance is perfect. Cowl steering I presume? I gotta come by the shop Thursday nite and see it in the flesh.

Yes, cowl steering. Getting a new Schroeder steering kit for it soon. Got a really nice blue flake Challenger 500 wheel for it. And Tommy C brought over an NOS set of period SW 2 5/8's gauges yesterday too. Now all we need is the tach and speedo. Or.......maybe no speedo. :D

Incredible design, incredible chassis, and amazing work of making that rendering come to life. Only thing I would change is the rocker covers, I love the mopar covers on a 70's car, but like the 426 wedge covers in the concept for the overall period look. Just my opinion and its probably not worth $0.02 to you but regardless just keep up the quality work.

Those aren't the final valve covers. It will be just as Zombie's rendering.

I was floored to see it as a roller on the ground. It's going to be so rad...

Yeah, I know what's "capable" on street tires....I've witnessed it 1st hand at 2 a.m.;)...but there's a big difference in "street" tires.....McCreary's, M&H, BFG Drags, etc.......does the way inaccurate math (speculation) include tire bite??? :p
    Are those Hurst or Radirs????
If you can get those suckers to hook and run 9's, that'll kick ass! I'm hoping ya do!

Yeah, I know what you are saying. That's why I quoted the horrible and in reality unpredictable math vs. reality.

They are Radirs. Which equal Mickey Thompsons. And they are a drag compound. Tangerine Scream ran 80.19mph and 8.29 sec. in the 8th on those same tires at GG in Indy three weeks ago. And that was missing 2nd and 3rd and going right to 4th gear. As well as all that wrapped around a reaction time of like 6.444. Now, that doesn't translate to 9's in the 1/4er, but pretty impressive for a heavy truck with street/strip suspension out back.

That looks stunning and frame looks very beautifully made.
I am curious about the design of your frame. I can see that it must be very stiff laterally, but the top member of the front lattice beams that support the engine and front wheels presses into the span of the upright behind the “A” pillar without any support behind the upright in the direction of the forces. The frame at the rear appears far more triangulated but lands mid span on the uprights behind the doors. Does this work because the cabin frame is made out of such a large section tube, or does it not need to be particularly stiff vertically?
Please don’t take this as a critical question – I am in awe - , I am just really interested in your car and am trying to understand how it works.

Hey Kevin... Truely amazing craftsmanship, vision and...you have Hit-the-look-dead-on. I love your chassis designs and suspenion selections. I'd feel very safe driving a HotRod that somes out of your shop...not to mention that it would handle very well and most likley hook very well and be very controlable.
What rear gear ratio will be used in the Sedan?

Many THANKS to you for the update and great photos!

This is my favorite thing from you guys! Great look, stance....everything good!

Get an alternate set of 70's tech M&Hs with Halibrands, cool looks and I bet it would eek out a better performance at the track.

    Space tube frame....excellent!

You're question is a good one. The only thing you aren't aware of is that the chassis isn't done. Far from it. In the front, there are X braces that will be in each door opening, as well as another brace that's a 90* elbow that will run from the top of the forward chassis just behind the firewall up and then back to the door/window bar. Then a cross brace that will run perpendicular to the firewall (where the Schroeder steer box will be mounted). As well as most likely an X above that behind the dash. Then, out back, the rear upper braces have to be added, but only after the fuel cell is fabricated along with the chute pack mount and tether mount.

Just an FYI for you guys that are getting into this type of chassis, only a fool welds in the door X braces BEFORE you are done fabricating the cockpit area. Or a contortionist. :D

Thanks a lot Glen. We're thinking 4.10 or 3.90:1. But I haven't gotten that far yet. I'd like to get the car farther along and be able to better gauge the weight of the completed project. I may even end up order the gear set last. The TKO600 has a shorter first gear ratio (2.87:1) than the TKO 500 (3.27:1), but can handle more torque. Yesterday, the owner was speculating about going with a 'Glide instead of a stick. And he'll have the power to push the 'Glide. Of course, we're all riding him about "hot rods having 3 pedals." :D

But in the end, it's owners choice. The benefit of the 'Glide is that you only have two speeds, fast and faster. So less shifting. I'm rooting for the stick over the 'matic. But that's me.

Thanks Jeem. Actually, the M&H's that are on Emotional Abuse are the 1965 molds (according to the guys at M&H). So if you wanted to update the car just a year or two and run them, you'd still be well within the 60's frame of mind.

HAHAHA! Nice Glen. I'm hoping I right in thinking that you DIDN'T make that mistake? ::confused:: :D

  27. NICE work!!!! Fit up on all your tube work is first class all the way. What do you do for planning the layout of your tube work??? I've been using BendTech Pro for a couple years now and it's worth every penny.
What are you using for your notches?? I tend to go to the 4.5" grinder more often than not, though I have the good ol' hole saw notcher. Hoping to get a Baleigh notcher soon.

Hoping for updates soon! And video of it firing up!

No, but the next time around I will put the door bar in at the last possible minute.

Luckily my cowl lifts off so I could wire the car from the oustside.

  29. just found this. very cool, cant wait to see it done. keep up the great work.

  30. Way to go kevin. Its to bad no one remakes goodyear blue streak slicks, thay would look killer on there.
