Glad to see these small local events continuing and growing. Some bitchin' cars there for sure.

Your car was the hit of the day and there was alot of guys wanting to know how much for the car. When you finsh that car is going to be even more of a head turner than it is now. And don't worry will kick you in the ass for taking that bitchn coupe home.

Don't have any specifics, but the guys got a few bitchin' rides and comes from Washington state. Don't think he's on the hamb. If I see him at any of the upcoming shows, I'll have to ask him about it, 'cause it is pretty boss. Been wanting to know more of the history of it myself.

  13. I spoke to this guy briefly at the run to the pines about these wheels. He told me that they were nickel dipped? I went to a chrome shop and they said it doesn't look to be nickel plated? Does anyone know how this is done as I'm looking at getting a few miscellaneous parts done this way?

And as usual awesome show, glad I was able to make it out this year.

  14. Looks like Nickel to me. When first applied it is brighter but tarnishes with age.

NeedLouvers and I were talking to an LA Roadster over a year ago that did this. He went into detail about how guys would plate several samples and let them age to certain points, then clear coat. Using the data produced they could get different hues and colors.

    Definitely nickel!
This car is part of a series of cars built by Rod Palmer's Arizona Street Rods about a decade ago. I did all the louvers for these cars, so I got some behind the scenes looks at the assembly of the group. The amount of the nickle work on all compenets is astounding on these cars!

By the way, the L.A. Roadster member that Elpollacko and I were talking to at L.A.R.S. was Bob Barnes, one of the principals of Verne's plating in L.A., an old line hot rod company if there ever was one. Now if I could just remember if he is the "the devil" or "the dwarf" in the old stories from Rod Action in the seventies...

All the pictures I took I have already posted. I will say, that car has a sweet stance with perfect rear tire/ fender placement.

  23. Is that the Wayne Henderson Vicky? Never mind. It's not the same car. I just looked up Wayne Henderson's car and this one's close, but not it.

I saw the owner at the GCC swap and totally spaced this thread. Dug through my pics and came up with these 3 (sorry, no interior shots) from the goodguise show last March and a couple shots of his roadster . . .
