There would not have been 16" artilleries on a '31 Plymouth, so you need to get pictures so they can be identified and priced properly. Hard to put a number on them since no one knows exactly what they have.

Get me a picture and I'll tell you what they're off of and what a good price would be. I've done some dealings with artillery wheels and I know my Plymouths pretty well.

Those old thick wooden spoke wheels used on many old cars were often called artillery wheels well before the steel wheels we all know and love here.

I paid 50 bucks for a pair of '35 Olds 16" artillery wheels for the back of my roadster (5 on 5), and then, I ended up buying a set of 4 '35 Dodge/Plymouth ones for the front (5 on 4 1/2) for $300 to get a pair that matched! I sold the pair I didn't need, and got enough to make the entire set cost 150 bucks. Not too shabby, and they (almost) match! It was tough finding a pair for the front, there are lots of variations, and they're getting popular.

  9. For Your Information:
Porsche spare tire wheels are very similar in design to these vintage wheels. The 924/944/928 are very close, some are 4 bolt, other are 5. They also came in aluminum versions.

If you go to that big auction web site, you will several single wheel auctions there.

There should be a number somewhere on the wheel, get that and we can pin it down.
The first 16 inch "steel spoke" wheel on Plymouth was 1933,

I sell those 33-34 Plymouth wheels for $50-$75 each depending on how nice they are. Have sold 12 or so in the last year. They look good on hot rods.

I agree, I've had both, and those sure do look like the 17" version. They would still look nice on a rod, and Coker makes 17" tires to fit, but not as valueable/desirable as the 16" version.

$100 for a set of 17's would be a good deal, maybe $150 would still be worth it but I don't think I'd want to spend more than that. I much prefer the 16" wheels which look very similar but take a much more popular tire size.
