Most of the people I know charge between $100 to $150 for setup. Then about $18 to $35 per plaque, but that's the people I know.

I like how the GAMBLERS text came out, but otherwise got hung up on the idea of merging the piston and the spade...

O'brien Truckers do great work. We paid 20 bucks a plaque plus set up fee. They are great quality. I will try and attach a pic...i'm new so this may not work.

Merry Xmas and my last offer 1:1 (5" x 10")

Thanks to all who commented on it!

The only thing left to do to get it ready for machining is to round up a few interior corners...

37Nash,I don't think most plaque fabricators "machine" their plaques. They use some sort of sand process to make a mold so they can cast the plaques out of aluminum. So you would'nt need to worry about rounding the interior corners if they choose your design.

Yep, cast. I'd also lose the little tabs on top and just drill holes up in the corners. Make it easy for the guys.

these two together....I really like the lettering on the first, and i like the bigger spade...work some majik foe us....these look GREAT!!!!!THANK TO EVERYONE!!!

  16. :) thats interesting.

i would ditch the 'cc' out of the plaque, makes it sound more like a lowrider club than anything i think. some good designs here. the cross pistons are cool, but look wierd without the crank journals.

oh yeah, and as soon as the state st. crosses over the freeway its goleta, as far as i'm concerned, as well as the other locals!

Sounds good. It might be up to you 37 Nash to bring it home, you have the right font. Here a couple variations using the first font I used w/ all caps to look at.

  19. Piece of cake and we can get ALL of that detail in a sand casting w/o a problem. Everything White here would be raised (full 1/4" thick ) and everything Black would be recessed, correct?

Great to know, thanks Dennis! You´ll use a pixeled image or the vectors? I can get you both, the original pixels for that one are at 3200 x 1600...

Also thx to low. In the old school "dictionnary", i´m still at the table of contents page ... didnt know about the sand stuff

  21. Vector is better, I've been using Corel Draw for 25 years. But we can go with a high res .jpg too as long as it's all done and doesn't need any tweeking. .PDF's that are made up of objects are another good vehicle to send them.

Please use obt@charter.net so we don't use up Ryan's bandwidth.

Which one do you like Gambler?

You've given pretty solid direction along the way. The only thing I would add is that I think bolder letter styles are more Hot Rod like. Which one represents you guys the best?

  30. it should be nobody's vote but your club's. happy new year.
