    Damn hippies! haha
    Cool sticker!
It's cool the motor was found, bummer it can't be had and the parts are gone though. I had a feeling even if it was found the stuff would be gone unfortunately. They were off the motor when i went to look at it, and that was probably weeks after it was pulled out..
Good thing is there are a lot more out there so i'm sure sooner or later you will find the right one to fill the rails.

    Again, cool truck man..
    Congrats!

I hear ya. Something about having the original one just means so much more..
I'd just run the Chevy 'til the right one comes along......and i'd stay in contact with the guy who has the original one just in case...ya never know..

  6. Cool find man. There has GOTTA be some pictures of that thing in a carshow somewhere!? Be a great blueprint for taking it back the right way.

Talk about a great score and to find all the history on the truck too! Too bad that guy won't let go of the Olds motor that was in it. Keep buggin' him....he'll soften up and let it go eventually. Hell, tell him to read this post! Maybe then he'd understand the importance of you having the Olds motor!

Love the pics of your dad's truck too! Killer!!!

Whoa Bob, nice find!!!! Definitely makes up for losing the white one huh? That thing is just plain right. I can't wait to see what your going to do with in the next couple months. Still sticking with the Halibrands or are red wheels in it's future now that you have the heads up!

Didn't your buddy have a pretty nasty Olds for sale with speed equipment? Hope that dude comes off the original though.

  13. that is one kick ass truck-nice score!

I hit the old magazines a little. Looked through my 60 61 62 rod n custom, popular hot rodding, and Hot Rod. Thought I found a pic of it running at the 60 national championship drags in RI but witha closer look, its not the same truck.

Lookin at that sticker in the window. Somebody should check out like Dec. 62 Hot Rod. That would probably cover the national Drags. Check Pop hot rodding, I didn't have late 62.

crazy that you found the motor...shame you can't make a deal on it though...

you probably already thought of this but,...does the guy just want an olds... or is he set on THAT olds and won't part with it for anything?...

if it doesn't have some other significance to him, maybe you could find a comparable one to trade him?
