Over the years I've had 40's & 50's trucks and various cars. Also had a few rods, 1928 Coupe, 1932 Coupe, 1932 Roadster and, currently, a 29 Roadster. All glass. Having some cash in the bank from my pension, at age 68 I figured it was time to bite the bullet and look for a genuine Ford A. I like A's but have never had a Sedan. So the search was on. As you can imagine there's not an abundance of old Fords in the UK. My budget was limited so finding the right car was going to be hard. I took the advice of many of you and held out until I found the perfect candidate. A 1930 Tudor, not totally stock having been painted and re-trimmed in the past. Been in the UK since 1985, always garaged so body and chassis are as solid as they come. I've been following ModelAMitch on here and really admire what he has achieved on his 28 without too much effort and expense. That's the sort of look I'm aiming for. For now I'm going to drive iy and get a feel for the car. Mind you, it's a whole other story driving a stocker. Updates to follow as and when I make progress. Cheers!
I think that was smart to buy a solid candidate and driving a stocker is definitely different. I hope you enjoy that part and good luck.
Thanks chevyfordman. A whole new ball game for me as my previous rods have been bought finished or partly built. Looking forward to the challenge.
