While i was installing my TH350,a friend tried to be helpful. But than he came back with 20quarts of
ATF type A,that is'nt returnable. The stuff is clear/bit yellow and does'nt feel as thick as Dexron.
Internetsources say its the original stuff from waaay back. But i don't trust that, since this is a brand new TH350 tranny(ouch!)
What do you think?Just a bit slippier,or bad and nono?

This is a B+M Th350 with a Transmission Specialities 10" "mid stall" converter.
I would have used different stuff, but i'm all the way in Germany and the combination kinda "fell in my hands".cheap...

    Thanks!

ATF Type A is the stuff used in the old old automatics until Dexron, II, III and ATF Type F, and that new Mopar Stuff came along.
I wouldn't use anything but Dexron or Type F.

Don't use type F in Gm trannies. It is not made for them.
Use Dexron III. Shouldn't be too hard to find.
As far as the old stuff, you might want to have a talk with your buddy and let him know that next time he goes for parts, you will make sure you both agree what he is buying you before he spends your money.
