Had a great day!! Eatin', ridin', hangin', and great weather to boot. Really enjoyed meetin' the new folks, everyone was really friendly, no 'wet diapers' in the crowd. (although Tony did mention a need of a wardrobe change after the brakes failed on the Rocket!!) A big THANKS to everyone that let us stop by and invade their place, couldn't beat the hospitality! Left out at 7:30 in the AM an' finally got back at 9 in the PM. Had the condenser lay down on me on the way home, but with a light from a kind dude that pulled up (outta nowhere, 'cause I was in the middle o' nowhere!), I got it back on the road. With the ol' flathead, I keep spare points and condensers in the back (plus all the other troubleshootin' tools, and oil, and lead additive, and no tellin' what else......) Relaxin' day all the way 'round. Gotta do it again one o' these days!

Good People...Good People. Thanks to Hemi for the rib poking to attend the breakfast. Thanks especially to Tudor for listening and understanding who I am and how I percieve this Lifestyle, as it's slowly evolving. You guys are always welcome at my shop. Happy Thankful Day, and many more.

Tim, if you're having a problem with condenser failure and point burning, make sure your distributor is well grounded to the engine and that the engine is well grounded to the battery,
Low amp draws like a point triggered ignition are very sensitive to any resistance back to ground.
I can't remember for sure, but aren't you running the '49 up ignition? I figure you must be, to be able to change points and condenser on the roadside. If so, sometimes the distributor doesn't make a good electrical connection to the timing gear cover housing.

on the tips of the spark plugs. When you don't have lights on any of them your condensor is not condensing.
