Grew up in Freeport NY, home of the Freeport Municipal Stadium. Watched the midgets and stock cars from the age of 5. I could hear the track from my house on Friday or Saturday nights. Glad I found you guys. -Frank
Greetings from Rockmart GA, about 45-50 miles from you on US 278. Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup and Ozelle the '55 Ford send friendly horn honks.
Wecome for the west coast of Florida. Freeport wow I can almost see and hear Islip Speedway. Long Island had many great drag strips over the years starting with Freedomland way back in those days. Jimbo
I live in Lawrenceville, been here since 1994. I used to go to Freeport with my grandparents or my dad. When I got in my teens my dad took me to Islip at least four times a summer. One year the NASCAR Grand Nationals made what they called the Northern Tour. They raced at Freeport on Friday night and Islip on Saturday. We went to both races. It was awesome to see such big cars on those tracks cause we were used to modifieds and hobby stocks.
