Well, I had hoped to get a lot more done on the atomic punk over the weekend, but a friend stopped by on Saturday and I spent half of the day goofing off with him. On Sunday I did pretty well but I felt a cold coming on so I pressed on through to finish what I started. I didn't even feel like drinking too much on NYE but I made it though that as well. Ha Ha Ha I spent all day on Monday on the couch watching the rerun of last years Barrett Jackson auction and taking naps. Had I not fallen ill, I wanted to get the whole car all roughly skinned in. Oh well, there is always next weekend. You can see in these pictures that I was in "super mock up mode". On saturday I built my new spring perch and started to wire form the cowl outline out of 3/8 inch round rod. I don't plan on using that rusty POS cowl, I just had it there for mock up purposes.
Well, it just wouldn't be right unless I used some farm truck parts somewhere on my car. Well it was a good thing my buddy Chris showed up to help me drag this hood from a early 60's Chevy 2 ton truck into the garage. this thing was massive. You can tell from the pic that a little had to come out of it.
Well, I did a little cypherin' and I figured out that about 2 feet needed to come out of the hood so I cut off the ends and stuck them on the car, then remeasured after they were on the car to figure out how big the middle chunk needed to be.
I started to feel really crappy about this point and felt a little dizzy. I didn't want to leave anything half finished though so I grabbed a cold one to lube my brain up and I whittled away on the piece and got it all tacked in there before I gave it up for the day. I didn't take any pics, but I took a 54 olds roof and split it down the middle. It looks like it will lend itself pretty well to making the sides of the body. I was hopiong to get those on yesterday, but it didn't happen. Ha Ha Ha
Hands down, this is the best Plowboy abortion yet. I love that thing. Genius using the fugly Chevy eyebrows for a '60s style roll pan. Canted quads? Hemi? Whitewall slicks? Exner fins? Plowboy for president.
I must have missed something because I'm slow. What happened to the Sea Hag? Or are you multi tasking?
You are like a mad scientist........do you dress up like Doc Brown from Back To The Future in the garage?
you must've had more than one beer because some of those pics are looking a little out of focus. Looks like another winner to me!
Bitchin.....A few of us Nightmares were hangin' out on sat and got to talkin' '56 Eldorado turned two seat roadster. This post pretty much explains what we struggled to come up with.
I tell ya there is some kind of reefer madness going on in that place. Got any pics of the Stude? How's it coming along?
Russ's Stude hasn't really progressed at all lately, he has been spending his money on his honeymoon, getting his kid bailed out of jail and whatnot. He is about to get moving on it agian though. Zenor, I want some of what you got as well. The Sea Hag is still sitting right next to this car. I have it all wired up and it just needs glass now. I need to have yngrodder come over and start it up for me because I am too stupid to do that. Ha Ha Ha I needed a change of pace. That truck was just too "Normal" for me. Ha Ha Ha Gotgas, I wouldn't bee to sure at this point. It could still go wrong in any number of ways. Ha ha Ha Littleman, yes you will be able to see the holes. You are my hero. Are you bringing anything to Detroit this year? I need a hug.
Dude Too Cool!!! I just wonder what you see when you look at different chicks. Do you envision changing any pieces? Adding this here or taking this from this one. You definalty got a eye for what you do. It shows in what you do. Keep up the great work
hey Aaron, you got worse car ADD than i thought possible. seek help, and my advice: drink more... the world is a better place when you sauce and build my friend
